Dr. Joseph R. Sprangel Jr. (Joe) earned a Doctorate in Business Administration degree from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI.  His research area of interest is development of a framework to move an organization from status quo to a focus on sustainable development practices.  His dissertation research was A Study of the Direct and Mediational Effects of the SOAR™ Framework, Trust, and Environmental Management Systems on Chemical Management Services Supplier Performance at Haas TCM Group.

He holds a Master's in Business Administration degree from Spring Arbor University, a Bachelor in Business Administration degree from Eastern Michigan University, and an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Lawrence Technological University.  He is an Instructor of Operations Management for Ithaca College focused on sustainable development practices.  He brings to the classroom 28 years of industry experience, in part involved in the implementation of lean operations leading to waste elimination in the areas of administration, R&D, design, process development, production, and supply chain management.
